Meet The Teacher Night

Thank-you to the parents (and students) for coming in to visit me tonight! It was great to link each child with his/her parent. (Seeing drawn photos of you all just didn't do justice ;) .) We have a great class and we are guaranteed to have a great year!

For those of you who have not filled out the 2 consent forms (online activity and Fresh Grade), please do so by Wednesday, October 1st.

Also, we get planners this year!! (Yay!!) Please be sure to read and sign your child's planner each night. I will check each child's planner before it goes into his/her backpack and then again first thing in the morning. There is room for your comments, questions, or concerns, so I will do my best to respond through planners as well.

A great way to catch me is through e-mail as well. I attached my information on the 'Welcome to Grade 1' newsletter that went home today, as well, on the consent forms handed out last week.

Thank-you again!

See you tomorrow!

Our Canadian Hero-- Terry Fox!

We Ran for Terry Fox!

As a class, we discussed who Terry Fox was and why he is a Canadian Hero. We collected "Twoonies for Terry" to show our respect and appreciation to both Terry and Cancer Research. As well, we made our first class E-Book, showing each student running (or cheering) with Terry. Be sure to visit our classroom and take a look!

Today I will end this quick Blog post with something that one of the student's in our class said. He put a smile on my face and reminded me of why I chose such a rewarding career.

(Huffing and puffing after our Terry Fox run...) "Ms. Brown, I ran so fast, my heart is beating the fastest and I am so tired. But you know what, I didn't quit because Terry Fox never quit. So I won't quit. That's why I love Terry Fox."
